Miss Tourism World Sri Lanka has given a glimpse into the pageant as they start revealing its contestants this year.

On its official social media platforms, Miss Tourism World Sri Lanka announced the contestants from the Philippines, Serbia and Spain with many more to come.

The pageant will host national winners from 80 countries who will explore the iconic tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.

Notably, the country’s tourism will get cosmic exposure after the country won the hosting rights for Miss Tourism World 2022 in Colombo.

The hosting of Miss Tourism World’s Finale is seen as a huge boost to Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.

Croatia and Russia, which were the other two countries shortlisted to host the 75th edition of the Miss Tourism World, voluntarily opted out to allow Sri Lanka to host the pageant.

This was because these two countries knew that the event would play a major role in the tourism revival in Sri Lanka, said the Global Director of Miss Tourism World, David Singh.

The bid to host the pageant with national winners from 80 countries will give Sri Lanka a destination value of nearly USD 40 million.
