Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, Ellen Sidekick DJ, Dead at 40

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, DJ and co-host of The Ellen Degeneres Show, has died at the age of 40.

He is believed to have died by suicide on Tuesday (13).

Wife of the American freestyle hip-hop dancer, actor and television personality, Allison Holker Boss confirmed the sad news to PEOPLE, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us…Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

In 2014, Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a DJ. He was later named an Executive Producer on the show, and hosted several episodes in DeGeneres’ absence. He also co-hosted DeGeneres’ competition show Ellen’s Game of Games between 2017 and 2021.

His acting résumé includes Blades of Glory, the Step Up franchise, and Magic Mike XXL.

Boss married dancer and fellow So You Think You Can Dance contestant Allison Holker in 2013. The couple shared three children together.
