‘Do you have 100 heads like Ravana?’ Kharge’s latest jibe at PM Modi draws flak

A massive row erupted in Gujarat after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Ravana’ during a rally, drawing sharp criticism from the BJP.

Addressing a public rally in Ahmedabad’s Behrampura, veteran Congress leader said, “We see your (Modi’s) face in corporation elections, MLA elections or MP elections, everywhere… Do you have 100 heads like Raavan?”

“I’ve been seeing that votes are sought in the name of Modiji, be it municipality elections, corporation elections (or Assembly elections)… Ask for vote in the name of the candidate… is Modi going to come and work at the municipality? Is he going to help you in times of your need?”, senior Congress leader said, attacking PM Modi.

Hitting back at Kharge for insulting PM Modi, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said, “Unable to take the heat of Gujarat election, pushed to the fringe, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge loses control over his words, calls Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Ravan”. From “Maut ka Saudagar” to “Ravan”, Congress continues to insult Gujarat and it’s son.” (sic)

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Kharge calling PM Modi Ravana has saddened the entire country and this shows the mindset of Congress.

“Narendra Modi is the pride of Gujarat and has been working for the development of each and every citizen. These are merely words of Mallikarjun and the ideology is of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Remember who called Narendra Modi ‘Maut ka Saudagar’? Madhusudan Mistry said he will show Narendra Modi his place his ‘Aukaat’,” Patra said.

“What ‘Aukaat’ will you show Soniaji? Every Gujarati should teach a lesson to this Congress party which has used such words against the Pride of Gujarat, Every Gujarati should come out and vote and teach Congress a lesson,” the BJP leader added.

Earlier, the Congress leader described PM Modi as a ‘leader of lies’ and accused him of seeking sympathy by calling himself poor. While addressing a public rally at Dediapada in poll-bound Gujarat’s Narmada district, the veteran Congress leader said he himself comes from the “untouchable caste.”

“A person like you claims to be poor. I’m one of the untouchables. People drank your tea, nobody would’ve had my tea,” Kharge said, lambasting PM Modi.

Gujarat will vote for a new state assembly in the coming weeks, with polls to be held in two phases, on December 1 and December 5. Counting of votes will be conducted on December 8.
