The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.

The Met Department said mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
