The Department of Meteorology predicts several spells of showers in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale district.

The Met Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the afternoon or night.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
