he express train scheduled  from Kalutara south to Maradana at 7:00 am, derailed while entering the first platform at Kalutara south railway station, Railway Department said.

They said four wheels of the eleventh compartment of the train were off the track, and 11 sleepers have been damaged due to this.

Following this mishap, other  trains running on the coastal line may get delayed, the department said.
