Veteran filmmaker and spouse of late Lester James Peries Kala Keerthi Sumithra Peries passed away this morning.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena informed Parliament of her death and expressed condolences.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Media Minister Bandula Gunawardena and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayake also joined in expressing their condolences on the passing of the veteran film industrialist.
