EC to Meet with PM to Discuss Delayed LG Election

The Election Commission (EC) is scheduled to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena tomorrow at 10 a.m. The main focus of the discussion will be the Local Government (LG) election, which is yet to take place.

The EC had previously sent a letter to the Prime Minister requesting the meeting to discuss the election, and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has granted the request.

According to the news reports, the EC is eager to find a solution to the delay in holding the LG election. The discussion with the Prime Minister is expected to play a crucial role in identifying a way forward. After concluding the discussion, the EC will make a decision regarding the LG election.

It is important to note that the LG election has been postponed on multiple occasions. The delay in holding the election has resulted in dissatisfaction among the public and political parties alike.
